Annular Tearing Visualized on MRI

There were several recent studies published regarding the High Intensity Zone (HIZ) visualized on MRI.  Specifically on the Sagittal T2 image.  This is a very important aspect of medical legal practice and was first discussed by Aprill and Bogduk in 1992.  When evaluating spinal injury as a result of trauma, the HIZ is a very important concept to understand and implement in medical-legal practice.
